Weekly Poll #13

Last Week's question:  what has been your favorite DreamWorks animated film thus far?

First place:  Shrek
Runner-Up:  Wallace and Gromit

This week's questions:  Well, surprise, it's about Bond.  This only comes along every couple years, so I'll ask several questions at once, just to get your intellectual juices flowing.

1.  Who actor to play James Bond is your favorite?
2.  What is your favorite Bond movie?
3.  Who is your favorite Bond villain?
4.  Who is your favorite Bond "babe"?

    1) They're all good except for that Dalton fellow. If I had to pick one, I wouldn't.
    2)The Man With the Golden Gun- It's got a midget-and it's Tattoo!!!!!
3)Scaramanga and his evil 3rd nipple. Blofield and Dr. No runner ups.
3b)Evil Sidekick/henchmen-Nick Nack, Jaws, Oddjob (aka Random Task)
    4)Famke Janssen-Xenia Onatopp

    1. Too Early to judge CRAIG, so I will go with PIERCE BROSNAN. We would have had BROSNAN for LIVING DAYLIGHTS & LICENSE TO KILL if the Producers of REMINGTON STEELE would have let him off his contract.
    2. Tomorrow Never Dies - I like the EVIL TED TURNER Media Mogul concept
    3. Because of my preious answer, ELLIOTT CARVER is my favorite Villain. Robert Carlyle could have been it but this great actor had a bad story to be in.
    4. We al like "PUSSY GALORE" but my personal favorite is HALLY BERRY!

    1) Sean Connery/Daniel Craig
    2) Dr. No/OHMSS(what can I say? I'm a romantic)
    3) Scaramanga (even if it's just for his name)
    4) Ursula Andress (Sophie Marceau & Eva Green are close behind though)

    1) 2 weeks ago, I would have told you Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. But now that I've seen "Quantum of solace", I am positive : Daniel Craig is the best Bond. Ever.
2)I don't watch the Bond movies very often, so I have difficulties electing the best one. The one I think is beautifully aging though, is Goldeneye, so I'll go with it.
3)Best villain is Casino Royale's Le Chiffre. Because he is fascinating and vulnerable like no other villain before (closely following Bond's own evolution under Craig's personification)
4)It depends of what you mean by best Bond babe. Is it the most interesting character, or the most desirable ?
I guess Eva Green perfectly fits both... but I have to add ex-aequo Halle Berry. The hottest. Ever.

1- Roger Moore- just to annoy David ;-). Moore's Bond was the only one to recognise the silliness of Bond.
2- View to a Kill- oh, the hilarity!
3- Max Zorin (see point 3)
4- I would say Eva Green. Haven't seen Casino Royale, but she's smokin'.

    1) In order:

Roger Moore - SIMPLY THE BEST. He was the original selection for the role, but was not able to take it due to his contract for 'The Saint' (similar to Brosnan with 'Remington Steele'). He was always calm and sophisticated. He played the role exactly as it was intended by Ian Fleming.

Pierce Brosnan - A VERY CLOSE SECOND. If not for NBC screwing him over, he would have done many more movies, and possibly secured the top spot. Go figure, then he gets screwed over by the Bond producers.

Sean Connery - People who pick him as the best have little imagination and simply pick him because he is a respected actor, and he was the first.

George Lazenby - He could have been a very good Bond, had he done more movies.

Timothy Dalton - A harder edged Bond, but he was not good. Thankfully we only had to endure two movies.

Daniel Craig - HE IS HORRIBLE. Any TRUE Bond fan should agree that Craig does not fit at all. He has no sophistication. He is your run-of-the-mill action star.

    2) 'The Spy Who Loved Me' & 'For Your Eyes Only'

    3) You can't beat Jaws & Oddjob

    4) Barbara Bach & Carole Bouquet

1- Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery runner up. Though i view Sean as the original character, Pierce just a has the best style.
    2- Goldeneye!
3- Trevelyen, Sean Bean was badass
4- Ooo tough one, i would say the chick from the one with Chris Walken as the villian. She couldn't act but she was smokin
  • lainie @ 11/14/2008 ( 8:37:04 AM )
    1. Pierce Brosnan. I'm glad to see some people giving Brosnan some love here. He was the perfect Bond. For another side of Brosnan check out "The Matador".

    2. All in all, I really enjoy the Moore era movies. They have a fun swingin' Seventies feel. Kind of like looking at an old Playboy magazine. If I had to pick one I'll go with The Spy Who Loved Me.

    3. I think I'll go with Oddjob as my favorite villian. He really stands out in my mind.

    4. There are so many beautiful Bond girls it's hard to pick just one. But, I'll pick Ursula Andress. She started it all and remains the quintessential Bond beauty.
  • Keyser Soze @ 11/14/2008 ( 9:48:54 AM )
    1. Sean Connery - There is no other Bond

    2. Goldfinger - The Gold Standard of all Bond Films

    3. Auric Goldfinger - Obviously
3B. Tie between Jaws and Odd Job for best henchman

    4. Ursula Andress/Barbara Bach
  • Roode @ 11/15/2008 ( 7:44:51 AM )
    1. Roger Moore was my favourite Bond, but Connery and Craig have been in the best Bond films overall.

    2. Goldfinger, then The Spy Who Loved Me and then Thunderball

    3. Auric Goldfinger and Jaws.

    4. Famke Janssen
  • Chris M @ 11/16/2008 ( 8:36:13 AM )

    1. Gotta go with Connery here.

    2. Goldfinger

    3. Auric Goldfinger - No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!!

    4. Pussy Galore (Honore Blackman)... just for the name!
