Does what you read in a movie review help you to decide whether or not to see that movie?  Let me ask you... whose advice would you rather seek, that of a "professional" critic, or a regular movie lover just like yourself?   This site is dedicated to bringing you reviews of all the latest films, courtesy of a wide variety of people who, though not "professional" critics, have a deep and profound love for film that we just have to share with you!   I have assembled a knowledgeable and creative team of people, of all backgrounds and experiences, from all over the world, who collectively have spent thousands and thousands of hours watching movies.

THE STAFF

Patrick Hodges, the creator, chief editor and occasional reviewer for this website, is 39 years old and currently resides in Glendale, Arizona.  He has been a columnist for the last 18 months for FantasyMoguls.com, where is also a regular player and Message Board contributor, and he occasionally manages to squeeze some quality time with his wife in between trips to the local cineplex.

David Tredler lives in Paris, France.  A columnist specializing in arthouse films for Fantasy Moguls since August 2007, he has been taking advantage of Paris's status of "capital city of film buffs" since he was old enough to go to the cinema on his own (and even before...)  Working on a website dedicated to independent films for some time now.  Born the same year that Indiana Jones made his debut on the silver screen, he spends most of his time in Paris's film theaters, with a particular fondness for anything directed by Terence Malick, made in Korea, or featuring Gong Li.

David Ranscht is also a featured columnist for Fantasy Moguls.  He is a college student from Appleton, WI, where he works as a staff leader/projectionist for Carmike Cinemas.  His theatrical accomplishments include design credits on award-winning promotional displays for Over the Hedge and Talladega Nights, and being recognized as a Disney Perfect Projectionist during the exhibition of Ratatouille.  Feel free to read his columns by visiting Fantasy Moguls.

Stuart Bland, a 26-year-old architect by day, has been writing movie and music reviews for a number of websites for more than ten years now.  Raised in the U.K. but now living in the glorious nature of Auckland, New Zealand, his passion for movies was born when his parents took him to see the second run of Star Wars when he was three.  All major events since then have coincided with movies: lost his first tooth watching Moonwalker,  first fell in love watching Alien: Resurrection (Winona, I will wait, the GF will understand), etc.  He actively pursues the best movies ever unlimited by genre, language, or age. He is also a self-confirmed obsessive about all things comic-book-based, so if that's your thing, he is the man to guide you.

Paul "PJ" Edwards has been a frequent film viewer since he was 13, surprisingly, watching films on IFC and the Sundance Channel, and has been employed at a movie theater since he was 21.  He is also an aspiring actor, and is part of the local community theatre.  He resides in Pontiac, Michigan, but has home bases in Flint, West Bloomfield and Rochester.  He frequents many other websites, including Deadline Hollywood Daily and Hollywood Elsewhere to get the latest buzz.  His reviews are more focused on performance and content rather than spectacle, and you can probably blame college for that.

Chris Maitland is 16 years old and from Swampscott, Massachusetts.  He has been writing school-assigned papers for years and movie reviews for a couple of months.  He got into movies at the age of six when he saw Michael Keaton’s frozen performance in the Xmas classic Jack Frost.  In between watching films, he enjoys listening to music (esp. heavy metal), hanging with friends, and scuba diving with Chris T. and Aquaman.

Mark Lengieza, is a 20-year-old college student at the University of New Haven in Connecticut but is actually from Chicopee, Massachusetts (and a shout-out to the two of you who actually know where that is).  He is entering his senior year as a communications major and hopes to someday get paid to write about things like this.  A really big sports fan (go Sox and Celtics!), he considers himself quite the action junkie when it comes to films.  If you want to get in touch with him, he can be reached at redsoxfan683@yahoo.com.  Feel free to drop him a line, as he looks forward to any feedback.

Eoin O'Faolain resides in Dublin, Ireland.  His is proud to have had several articles on the IMDb front page, but is frustrated that his numerous scripts have not been recognized for their potential.  (You philistines, I'll get you.  I'll get you good.  Bwahahahaha!!)

Jonas Mieschbuehler, sports enthusiast, apprentice film-buff and occasional reviewer, is 20 years old and lives in Albany, Western Australia.  He has a weekly radio show on 100.9 FM, and loves the Fantasy Moguls website, which he would recommend to any film lover.  He gets down to the local cinema as much as he can and plays Australian Rules Football, basketball, soccer and cricket, which keeps him healthy (mostly).  He'd love to hear some of your comments, as he's always on the lookout for some more film knowledge!  Shoot him an e-mail at miemob@aapt.net.au

Tony DiVincenzo, the pride of Cleveland, OH, is 24 years old and currently stranded in the rival city of Cincinnati.  While he has no “real” writing experience to speak of (excluding old college papers and the occasional inane message board posting), it is a true passion.  New to Fantasy Moguls, Tony has always been a huge movie fan (particularly of the suspense and fantasy genres), and figures that with as much as he shares his opinions about movies anyway, it couldn’t hurt to write them down.

Matt Starr (yes, that IS Rosario Dawson!)

Matthew Starr is 24 years old and lives in Queens, New York.  To put it mildly, he watches many movies.  Unfortunately, he doesn’t really have anything else fancy to put on his resume, so you will just have to take his word for it when he says he is a reliable critic.

Matthew Frendo is in his first year of law school, which mainly means life consists of studying, watching and reviewing movies, and the occasional hardcore drinking binge, when time and money permit.  He mainly enjoys films of independent nature, but will gladly (and, more times than not, regrettably) shell out his life savings to see a film at the multiplex now and again.  He has worked on independent films in the past and has written three full length screenplays that he has nonchalantly lost at this point, dismissing them as "crap".  He loves punk and hard rock, ladies with tattoos, Battlestar Galactica,  everything Joss Whedon has done so far, and has recently regained his affinity for comic books, through Hellboy, Transmetropolitan, and Season 8 of Buffy.  Oh, and if you care, he meditates daily in the Zen Buddhist tradition.

Rebecca Roth is 24 years old, has a degree in Computer Information Systems, and currently earns a living in St. Louis, Missouri, remotely managing servers for a major international news and market data corporation.  Her favorite movie of all time (for now) is Hackers.  For the most part, she enjoys all things creative above all else – art, music, literature, theatre, and of course movies.  She is an avid player and forum-goer at Fantasy Moguls, but this is her first foray into film reviewing.

Chris Keller is a college student, living somewhere in Ohio.  He doesn’t know what he wants to do after college, but hopefully it’ll involve movies in some way.  He’s currently a projectionist at a multiplex, and gets paid to watch just about all of the new releases every week.  His favorite movies of all time are Knocked Up and Clue, and he’s seen each of them at least 75 times.

Steven Froese is 20 years old, and starting on his degree for visual effects and animation, which he hopes will foster a directorial career.  He also some scripts and ideas that he’s currently working on.  The first film he ever remembers watching was The Lion King, which is still one of his favorites (a list that also includes Lord of the Rings, The Last King of Scotland, Pan’s Labyrinth, Howl’s Moving Castle and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie).  When he needs a good laugh, all he needs to do is watch an episode or two of I Love Lucy (which he touts as still being the best sitcom ever made, and if you want to debate him on that, you can give him a holler at stevenjfr_21@hotmail.com.)

Andrew Roode lives in Halifax on the beautiful Atlantic coast of Canada.  He works as a manager in a bookstore to better feed his passions for film, reading and travelling.  A masochistic streak and years of B-movies have done terrible damage, but he watches anything and everything to serve and protect the rest of the movie-going public.  He’s been with Fantasy Moguls since its inception, and looks forward to inflicting badly-written revies on his over-worked friend Patrick to edit.  Constantly.  (Editor’s note:  He’s kidding, everybody.  Well, about the first part, anyway.)

Don Hill writes reviews exclusively for TLMR and is pretty sure that Patrick has implanted a mind control device to elicit such loyalty.  He is a struggling writer of novels and short stories and currently works at a motorcycle accessories website.  He is feared throughout the land as the Scourge of the Overworld and is known affectionately as “D” to his friends.  He is a 12-year-old comic, movie, and book geek trapped in the body of a 30-ish year old married guy.  Fan and hate mail can be sent to dontesinferno77@gmail.com  He enjoys each equally.
